Advantage Machinery Services, Inc.
Advantage Machinery Services, Inc.

Project Overview
AMS partnered with a door manufacturer in Lawrence, Kansas to receive, unload, and install two 180,000 lb stamping presses into 4–5 foot deep pits within their facility. The project required full coordination from delivery through final placement in a confined industrial environment.

The Challenge
Installing large stamping presses below grade presented challenges in maneuverability, positioning, and precision. The size and weight of the equipment, combined with limited space and pit installation requirements, demanded careful planning and controlled execution to ensure proper alignment and safe placement.

Our Approach
AMS managed the entire process, including unloading, uncrating, and mobilizing the presses into position. Utilizing a 4-line Goldhofer SPMT, 75-ton mobile lift, 400-ton gantry system, and 15,000 lb forklifts, our team safely navigated the equipment into the building and lowered each unit into its designated pit.
Detailed planning and experienced crews ensured accurate placement and efficient execution throughout the project.

The Result
Both 180,000 lb presses were successfully installed with precision and without incident. The project was completed efficiently, delivering a seamless transition from delivery to final set while meeting all operational requirements.
