Project Overview

AMS partnered with a leading steel supplier and distributor to install a 120,000 lb Cutlite Penta laser machine at their facility in Cleveland, Ohio. As a trusted subcontractor, AMS was called in outside of our normal service region to support the project on short notice due to an urgent need.

 

The Challenge

The customer faced a time-sensitive situation requiring immediate mobilization of experienced crews to handle the 120,000 lb steel cutting machine. The size and complexity of the equipment, combined with the urgency of the project, required precise coordination, reliable execution, and a team capable of performing under pressure.

 

Our Approach

AMS quickly mobilized crews and equipment to the Cleveland facility, leveraging prior experience completing a similar installation for the same customer. The machine was tandem picked using two 150-ton cranes, then carefully dollied into position utilizing a Versa-Lift for controlled placement.

Our team coordinated all aspects of the lift, movement, and final set, ensuring safe handling and precise positioning throughout the process.

 

The Result

The 120,000 lb laser system was successfully installed without incident and within the required timeline. AMS’s ability to respond quickly, execute under pressure, and deliver a flawless result reinforced the strong trust and relationship with the customer.
